Samuel’s posterous

This time I darkened the background and added a list of states and their capital cities. I think the lighter shapes of the states stand out better against the darker blue. The dark background, of course, demands white type.

I used PD or CC licensed photos from Wikipedia but since I'm doing this as a "for me" project I've not documented yet the actual creators, but if you go to the Wikipedia page for each state capitol you'll probably be able to find out pretty quick who did 'em. If I polish this up any more, I will.

If I take this any farther, I'll have to cut down the sizes on some pictures. Some of them are pretty high-rez, and when you mask them out with 50 shapes, the file get's gnarlingly large and takes a while to save on a PowerMac G4, even if it has 2 cores. The budget for upgrading is still zero, so we'll have to use what we have for a while.
